Are You Planning A Wedding In Sussex?

As a Sussex Wedding Photographer, It's fantastic to be able to visit so many amazing wedding venues across the country. Luckily for me, there is a great mixture of grand and modest wedding venues in both East & West Sussex, but with so much choice, deciding on a wedding venue can be a difficult decision to make. Whether you're looking for a rustic barnyard wedding venue, a stately home or even a castle there is certainly plenty for you to choose across such a picturesque part of the country. The Sussex countryside offers some of the most beautiful landscaped gardens in the South East and I love being able to explore them as a wedding photographer.

As Sussex has so many wedding venues to choose from, I wanted to share a few of my favourite wedding venues to help you plan the best wedding in Sussex. Take a look around and do get in touch if you have any questions about my wedding photography packages.

The Best Sussex Wedding Venues

Popular Wedding Venues in Sussex

There are so many wow factor wedding venues in Sussex; whether you are looking for a castle or a stately home venue, a rustic barn or a peaceful oasis, Sussex certainly has plenty to offer. Take a look at a selection of our favourite wedding venues below.

Southdowns Manor, Petersfield

Southdowns Manor is becoming an increasing popular Sussex wedding venue and it's not hard to see why. With its signature duck egg blue bridal suite, chequered floor passageway (perfect for confetti throwing) and extensive fields to explore, there are so many gorgeous spots to enjoy and take photographs together.

Come rain or shine, you won't regret choosing Southdowns Manor.

The Ravenswood, East Grinstead

Nestled in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, The Ravenswood is a fantastic 15th Century Manor House that should be considered if you searching for a wedding venue in Sussex.

Inside, a selection of modern and traditional ceremony and reception rooms await you, alongside a boat house, little castle and secret gardens within the grounds. With so many fantastic locations for you and your guests to visit throughout the day, you will certainly create some fantastic memories at The Ravenswood.

Amberley Castle, Amberley

Amberley Castle in West Sussex is a stunning wedding venue, so stunning in fact that I would put it high up on my favourite venue list. Nestled in the Sussex countryside, the castle is steeped in history and still holds so many unique features. Set in 12 acres of land, Amberley Castle has beautiful landscaped gardens, ornate doors and even a white peacock roaming the grounds.

Battle Abbey School, Battle

Although also a fully functioning private school, Battle Abbey offers a fantastic venue for a truly unique, fairytale wedding. With stained glass windows. historic drapes and a breathtaking library, Battle Abbey School is fit for royalty. On average the venue hosts less than 20 weddings per year to ensure each event they host is given the attention it deserves.

The Bluebell Railway, Uckfield

For steam train lovers planning a wedding, look no further than The Bluebell Railway as a unique wedding venue. Your ceremony will be held on either the Sheffield Park or Horsted Keys platform before you and your guests take a private journey on the iconic steam train through the rolling countryside.

Choose to enjoy a drinks reception before heading elsewhere or even select a buffet or full wedding breakfast to dine onboard in one of the cleverly designed carriages.

Blackstock Country Estate, Hellingly

Close to Brighton, Blackstock Country Estate offers two beautifully restored barns which can be hired separately for smaller weddings or combined if you have a large amount of guests.

With 70 acres of farmland and stunning views of the South Downs, you and your guests can explore the meadows whilst taking in the peacefulness of this fantastic wedding venue. Blackstock Country Estate would be a fantastic choice.

Buxted Park Hotel, Uckfield

With a whopping 312 Acres of parkland, Buxted Park certainly brings the wow factor if you are looking for a wedding venue in Sussex.

A victorian orangery, blossom trees and tree-lined drive are just a few features Buxted Park have to offer couples who are planning a wedding; don't take my word for it, take a look yourself.

Alexander House, East Grinstead

Alexander House Hotel hosts the best spa I have ever visited and It certainly makes for an amazing wedding venue too.

The renovated Jacobean manor is a fantastic countryside retreat and is a perfect venue to choose if you are planning a Sussex wedding.

Why not visit the Utopia Spa with friends for your hen do and then revisit every year for an overnight stay to celebrate your anniversary. Any excuse to enjoy more of this gorgeous 5 star venue!
